Questions from A Spreading Goodness
1. We exist because the Trinity delights to spread goodness, because it is the nature of goodness and love to expand, to extend, and to delight in what it encounters. Where in your world do you experience a contented, spreading goodness where you are happy just to be alive?
2. What if you could move from the side of the table where you sit with your sin and your shame to the other side of the table to sit with the Father? What if, looking back from the Father’s side of the table, you were able to see your sin and your shame not as reflections of your wickedness, but as the project upon which God takes great delight to work with you? What if your struggles and your junk were a fascinating puzzle to God, and your company as you worked on the puzzle with him was his great joy? Would you want that – to have your heart be God’s companion, and your body be the engrossing task to which you both turned your cooperative attention?
