I worked as a freelance copywriter and brand strategist for the ten years before joining the team at ka+a… though not a traditional one. My motives are different.

I’m in this field for the joy of helping my clients discover their inspiration, fall more in love with it, and share what they love with the world. My job is to create durable symbols that remind them of their passion and draw others to the same joy. I believe every business or organization could work this way, but not every one wants to. That’s okay.

As I’ve done my client work in light of my faith, I’ve developed a strong passion about not selling idols to people. It’s bad for people, insulting to God, and ultimately ruinous for the person selling the idol. (God is faithful to destroy idols, and it seems to me that people who sell idols end up on the wrong side of the fight with a pretty devastating enemy.) I have a set of rules that help me keep away from some of the more common idol-selling pitfalls. Maybe I’ll post about them here.

I’m no longer freelancing, but my approach sounds good to you – if you are pursuing your career on purpose and with passion – check out the ka+a site and see if what there’s a way for us to work together there. Follow the links there, or email personally at pete@petegall.com.
